Little Hands

Little Hands

These little hands
they knew of nothing before
caressing feeding bottles and soft pillows
yearning for the giver's touch
reaching for the unknown
never, fearing, always exploring
fragile and vulnerable.

These little hands
once played with poo
never minding the smell
or who's touching who
Oblivious to its destiny
enormous responsibility,
these little hands, let it be.

** for Poem X Poem's prompt. Theme: parts of the body.

My head was pounding while writing this so please excuse the lack of fluidity. Thank you.
